BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Gina Proviano scored twice, while Jane Bossler and Stephanie Schubert each added a goal in LIU's 4-1 win over Dominican on Thursday afternoon.
 
Bossler opened the scoring just before the 20-minute mark, putting the Sharks up 1-0. Less than a minute later, Proviano doubled the lead to 2-0.
 
Proviano netted her second goal early in the second half, extending LIU's lead to 3-1. Stephanie Schubert sealed the win with a fourth goal, giving the Sharks a commanding 4-1 lead.
 
Keely Thomas started in goal for LIU, making two saves, while freshman Sofia Shakham played the final 23 minutes, securing LIU's first home win of the season at the LIU Soccer Park.
 
The Sharks will next face Quinnipiac on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
