BALTIMORE, M.D. — The LIU baseball team heads into the postseason fresh off a three-game sweep against Coppin State in the Sharks' final series ahead of the NEC Tournament.
LIU beat the Eagles 9-1 on Thursday afternoon and followed that up with a doubleheader sweep on Friday, winning 9-4 and 8-1.
JC Navarro and
Carlton Harper homered in game one of the doubleheader, and
Garrett Yawn picked up his fifth win of the season.
Noah Sorensen drove in three RBIs in the opening game on Friday.
LIU dominated the Eagles in game two of the doubleheader, and
Jarod Wade was a big reason why. The redshirt junior drove in four runs on three hits in LIU's 8-1 win.
The Sharks next play in the NEC Tournament. The opening round starts on May 22.
