BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU baseball team improved to 14-5 in NEC play after its 10-1 win against Stonehill in game one of the Sharks' three-game series against the Skyhawks.
Carlton Harper blew the game open in the sixth inning with a two-run home run, giving LIU a commanding 6-1 lead.
Garrett Yawn was lights out on the mound for LIU. The senior struck out seven batters in eight innings.
PJ Moritz was once again strong out of the bullpen for LIU. The senior fanned a batter in the ninth to seal the deal for LIU.

Jake Mastillo continued their dominance. The trio plated two RBIs each against the Skyhawks.
Nicholas Delvecchio finished the day with three hits.
Both teams are back on the field Saturday at 1 p.m. at LIU Baseball Stadium.
