TEMPE, Ariz. — The LIU men's hockey team's season closed Saturday night in the desert.
The Sharks fell in back-to-back weekend games to 20th-ranked Arizona State, 4-2 and 4-3, to complete the 2023-24 campaign.
LIU produced a program-record 16 wins this season.
In Saturday's finale, LIU jumped to a 1-0 lead against the Sun Devils on
Chris Pappas' goal midway through the first period.
After four unanswered goals by Arizona State, a shorthanded goal from
Isaiah Fox and
Josh Zary's goal with 2:16 remaining in regulation pulled the Sharks within a goal.
