EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — For the second-straight year, LIU women's hockey goaltender Tindra Holm has earned a spot on the Sweden National Team for the upcoming IIHF World Championship in April.

Holm, the NEWHA Goaltender of the Year, is coming off a record-breaking season.

The junior produced a season-high 23 wins, a 1.95 goals-against average, and a .904 save percentage.

The native of Skellefteå, Sweden, also played a major role in helping LIU set a new program record with 28 wins.

Holm will take her talents to the World Championship, which is slated for April 3-14.

The ten-team tournament features the top women's hockey players from across the world and will include a total of 29 games.

"It is always an honor to represent my country," said Holm. "It also shows that the hockey world is paying close attention to what we are doing here at Long Island University."

The tournament will be held at both the Adirondack Bank Center and the Utica University Nexus Center in Upstate New York.

Tindra Holm is LIU's all-time winningest goaltender with a 54-31-5 record in 90 games, which includes 17 shutouts during her three seasons as a Shark.

"This is an exciting and very well-earned opportunity for Tindra," said LIU women's hockey head coach Kelly Nash. "Tindra puts in the work on and off the ice, and it is great to see her being rewarded for that."

Holm was also a 2023-24 semifinalist for the Hockey Commissioners Association Women's Goaltender of the Year.
