TEANECK, N.J. — The LIU women's basketball team traveled to New Jersey on Thursday night to take on FDU in conference play. 

The Sharks went down big early and could not seem to bounce back as they fell 84-53.

Ashley Austin recorded a team-high 13 points and three assists while also grabbing six rebounds. 

Amaya Dowdy scored 10.

Alexzeya books scored eight points, shooting 3-4 from the floor. 

Emaia O'Brien led the team in rebounds with seven.

The Sharks return to the court on Saturday when they host Merrimack at 2 p.m.
