OXFORD, Miss. — The LIU men's basketball program will begin its 2024-25 campaign against No. 24 Ole Miss on Monday, Nov. 4, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Head coach Rod Strickland returns for his third season with the Sharks. LIU has three returners from the 2023-24 season: Tre'Shawn Sheppherd, Jason Steele, and Terell Strickland. Steele appeared in 21 games last season, averaging 4.6 points per game, while Strickland averaged 7.2 points per contest for the blue and gold.
The Sharks' roster features 12 newcomers, including four freshmen, led by Preseason All-NEC selection Malachi Davis, a redshirt junior who transferred from Arizona State.
After the season opener against Ole Miss, LIU will return to Brooklyn for its home opener on Nov. 9 at 12 p.m. against Pratt Institute. The Sharks will then embark on a two-game West Coast road trip against Air Force and California Baptist.
