BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The 2-2 Sharks will host local rival Columbia on Wednesday, November 20 at 7 p.m., hoping to deliver the 5-0 opponent its first loss of the season while climbing above the .500 mark themselves.
 
LIU will be led by Malachi Davis, who just earned his second consecutive NEC Prime Performer nod this week and has been every bit as advertised for the Sharks after being named to the 2024-25 Preseason All-NEC Men's Basketball Team. The guard scored a season-high 24 points in the Sharks' last game against California Baptist on Friday, Nov. 15, shooting 9 of 15 from the field. Davis is averaging 18.3 points and 4.3 assists for LIU, leading the team in both categories.
 
Terell Strickland has served as another standout for LIU this season, averaging 7.8 points to go with 6 rebounds and 4 assists per contest. Both of the latter marks rank second-best on the squad. Even at 6'0", Strickland has provided the Sharks with a steady presence who is always ready to crash the boards.
