EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — For the second consecutive week, the LIU women's hockey team collected a pair of NEWHA awards.
Jeannie Waller was named the NEWHA Player of the Week after her four-goal, five-point performance against Franklin Pierce this past weekend.
Waller also recorded her 100th career point and set a new career high for both goals and points in the Sharks' 6-3 win.
The senior was also named the NEWHA Player of the Week on Oct. 15.
Abbie Thompson was named the NEWHA Goaltender of the Week after earning two wins against Franklin Pierce, including a 1-0 shutout against the Ravens on Friday night.
Thompson also made 42 saves against No. 7 Quinnipiac on Nov. 12.
LIU returns to the Northwell Health Ice Center on Friday at 3 p.m. to face Post.
