Air Force Academy, CO — LIU defeated Air Force by a score of 63-54 on Monday, picking up its first road win and improving to 2-1 on the season.
The Sharks shot 44% from the field in the first half to help build up an early nine-point lead. Air Force came out strong in the second half and made a push to make the game more competitive, but LIU withstood the pressure by answering the call and ending the game on a 12-0 run over the final four and a half minutes of play.
Malachi Davis led the Sharks with 17 points and 5 assists, while freshman Jalen "Roc" Lee added 12 points, marking the second time he's scored in double-figures through the early goings of the season thus far.
Terell Strickland contributed 6 points, a team-leading 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. His efforts on the glass helped LIU outrebound Air Force by 15 (39-24).
The Sharks' next game calls for the team to continue its road trip, visiting California Baptist on Friday, Nov. 15 at 10 p.m.
