EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU men's hockey team beat Simon Fraser 7-5 in an exhibition game in the Sharks' first contest of the 2024-25 season.
 
Josh Zary finished the game with a hat trick, Carter Rapalje scored twice, while Sixten Jennersjö and Isaiah Fox also found the back of the net against SFU.
 
LIU dressed 12 newcomers for the game, including goaltender Daniel Duris, who made eight saves in 40 minutes between the pipes in his Sharks debut.
 
The Sharks next play at Augustana on Oct. 11.
