BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Ben Assane Fall had missed 364 days of game action due to an ACL tear in his right knee before returning for the LIU men's soccer team's season opener.
Fall, a redshirt junior from Dakar, Senegal, scored the game-winner that day at Stony Brook. He also tallied the game-winning goal on Friday night in a 2-0 win at UConn, and scored on Labor Day against VMI.
And on Tuesday, Fall was recognized as the NEC Player of the Week.
Fall has proven a lethal tag team with
Emil Jaaskelainen as strikers for the Sharks this season.
Fall has a team-leading three goals as well as one assist, while Jaaskelainen has two goals and two assists.
Jaaskelainen and midfielder
Alan Martinez joined Fall as NEC Prime Performers for the week.
The Sharks are off to a 3-1 start to the season as they prepare to face ninth-raned Akron on Friday in Ohio.
