BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU men's basketball team will be packing its bags for Los Angeles and Miami during the upcoming season.

Head coach Rod Strickland on Monday announced the team's 2023-24 nonconference schedule.

The Sharks begin with a pair of games at home, against Kenny Anderson-coached Fisk on Nov. 8 and against Air Force on Nov. 10, coinciding with Veterans Day.

LIU then heads to California for games at Pepperdine on Nov. 13 and at UCLA on Nov. 15.

Just after Thanksgiving, the Sharks will play a pair of games in Highland Heights, Kentucky. First, LIU faces Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a neutral-site game on Nov. 24. A day later, LIU faces host Northern Kentucky.

A Sunshine State trip also is on tap. LIU faces Florida International in Miami on Dec. 2 and Miami in Coral Gables on Dec. 6.

The nonconference schedule concludes in the Northeast with games at UMass Lowell on Dec. 12, at Rutgers on Dec. 16 and at home against UAlbany on Dec. 30.

The Sharks still expect to add one nonconference game in the coming weeks.

LIU's conference schedule is due to be announced in mid-August.
