JC Navarro slugged homers, but the LIU baseball team fell to host Army West Point, 17-6, on Tuesday.
Surrett (2-for-5) had been sidelined since an outfield collision at Stony Brook on March 8. He missed 30 games.
Navarro finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. His three-run shot in the first inning staked LIU to the lead, although Army West Point responded with four in the bottom half and another five runs in the second.
LIU returns to NEC action when it hosts Coppin State for a three-game weekend series. Saturday is Alumni Day at LIU Baseball Stadium.
