TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — On the eve of the NCAA Regional against host Alabama, right-hander Lindsey Cowans has claimed the latest accolade for the LIU softball team.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday named Cowans third-team All-Northeast Region.

Cowans, a sophomore from Camarillo, Calif., previously had been recognized as second-team All-NEC. She was a two-time NEC Pitcher of the Week this season.

Cowans enters the double-elimination regional with a 16-9 record and 2.34 ERA in 38 appearances (25 starts).

The Sharks face the fifth-seeded Crimson Tide in the regional opener on Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
