BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Jake Mastillo blasted a third-inning two-run homer to give the LIU baseball team the lead. However, Maryland Eastern Shore answered with three runs the following half-inning en route to a 6-3 rubber-game win on Sunday at the LIU Baseball Stadium.
Ty McInnes contributed five strong relief innings in the defeat.
Mastillo doubled in addition to his long ball.
Carlton Harper also had a pair of hits. He batted a team-leading .455 (5-for-11) with a homer, two RBIs and four runs scored in the three-game series.
The Sharks next host Stony Brook on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
