TRUMBULL, Conn. — The LIU men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker in its NEC opener on Friday.

Philip Hilble at first singles, Ales D'Anna at third singles and Akhil Indrabalan at sixth singles all were victorious, but the Sharks fell to host Sacred Heart, 4-3, at the Tennis Club of Trumbull.

D'Anna rallied for the three-set win, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, after dropping the opening set.

The Sharks return to action on Sunday night against Hofstra at Sportime Syosset.
