Isaiah Fox's goal.
However, No. 4/5 Quinnipiac rallied for a 4-2 victory against the Sharks on Saturday.
Collin Graff scored the equalizer on the power play in the second period. And Zach Tupker produced the game winner early in the third period.
Quinnipiac added an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
Brandon Perrone made 29 saves in the defeat.
LIU returns to action Sunday at 6 p.m. at Yale.
