EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — Noah Rupprecht made his collegiate debut in goal with a scoreless third period, but the LIU men's hockey team lost to Vermont, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at Northwell Health Ice Center.
The Catamounts raced to a five-goal lead before
Adam Pitters scored for the Sharks late in the third period.
Rupprecht, a freshman from Thief River Falls, Minn., entered for the third period and made eight saves.
Vermont swept the back-to-back games on Long Island.
The Sharks return to action with home games against Colgate on Jan. 12 and 13.
