Men's Basketball Finishes West Coast Trip at Pac-12 Power UCLA

LOS ANGELES — The LIU men's basketball team finished up its west coast trip Wednesday when it took on perennial Pac-12 powerhouse UCLA. 

The Sharks hung tough throughout the entire game and while some bounces and calls did not go their way, they kept playing hard. They fell in the game 78-58. 

Terell Strickland shined under the LA lights, scoring a tied for team-high 18 points while shooting 50% from the floor and 75% from three. He led the Sharks with five assists while also grabbing two rebounds and recording a steal. 

Eric Acker had the best game of his collegiate career so far, pouring in 18 points himself and grabbing a team-high five rebounds. The East New York native also had an assist. 

R.J. Greene put together another solid game, scoring eight points and tallying four rebounds while playing all five positions for LIU. 

The Sharks return to the court when they take on fellow NYC team Columbia on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
