STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two days after a deluge forced a postponement of the conference opener, the LIU field hockey team returned to competition on Sunday. And the Sharks scored a 2-1 nonleague win against Saint Louis in a game played on Staten Island.

Juana Laskowski broke the tie with a goal with 8 minutes, 18 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Earlier,
Micaela Skibski had drawn the Sharks even at 1 with a second-quarter goal.
Fleur Hofman made five saves in the victory.
