SHEFFIELD, England — A former LIU men's basketball player has entered the pro ranks.
Ty Flowers, a 2022 LIU graduate, signed with the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks, a member of the British Basketball League.
Sheffield is one of the most decorated teams in BBL history, winners of 14 different league titles in their 25-year existence.
Flowers, a native of Waterbury, Conn., was an All-NEC selection and NACBA All-District member in 2021-22. He was a three-time all-NEC member and appeared in 145 career games in five seasons.
One of the most decorated players in team history, Flowers finished his career 1,919 points scored. He was second in the Northeast Conference in scoring behind Peter Kiss last season.
