María Camila Orozco Goal Nets Women's Soccer Draw at Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The LIU women's soccer team is climbing the Northeast Conference standings as its extends its unbeaten streak.

María Camila Orozco scored in the 20th minute and the Sharks played to a 1-1 draw with host Merrimack on Thursday night at Duane Stadium.

LIU (3-6-3 overall) is now 1-1-2 in the NEC.

The Sharks are unbeaten in three straight.

Orozco, a senior midfielder from Clifton, N.J., produced the game-winning goal in 2-0 victory against Delaware State on Aug. 21.

This time, she staked the Sharks to a 1-0 lead. Merrimack then pulled even on a goal from Daniela Almeida in the 86th minute.

LIU returns to action Saturday with a nonconference match at Temple at 7 p.m.
