BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — When LIU football student-athletes officially report on Sunday, they will be greeted by a state-of-the-art locker room.
LIU-branded, custom-made mahogany lockers are being installed this week.
The new locker room also is set to include a game room, multiple charging stations, LED lighting and a recruit photo area.
The 115 lockers each have their own digital lock codes.
Led by first-year head coach
Ron Cooper, the Sharks assemble Sunday and stage their first official practice of the regular season on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
LIU opens its 2022 season at Toledo on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
"Football teams spend most of their time in the locker room every day," Cooper said. "It's where they prepare and hang out. It's great to be in a comfortable Division I locker room setting. I'm thankful to the university for the commitment."
