HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The LIU Softball team traveled out to Long Island to take on the Pride of Hofstra University on Tuesday, falling 9-1 to the hosts in five innings.
The Sharks struggled to capitalize once runners were on base, leaving five potential runs on throughout the five innings.
Victoria Zatko though, was able to cross the plate for LIU's sole run of the evening. The sophomore catcher was hit by a pitch to reach base in the second and was driven home by
Katie Hinkle. Zatko also had a leadoff double for the Sharks in the fourth inning but a double play ended the inning and left one baserunner on.

The Sharks are playing their final home series of the regular season on Saturday and Sunday against Mount St. Mary's. First pitch for game one of the double-header on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.
