Men’s Tennis Competes with Hofstra

BETHPAGE, N.Y. – The LIU men's tennis team took on Hofstra on Friday afternoon at home, losing 6-1 to the visiting Pride.
 
SHARK BITES
  • Hofstra started off strong in doubles taking the point with wins on courts three and then one, leaving court two's matchup unfinished before heading into singles play.
  • In singles on court one, Ben Brandherm took his opponent to a tie-break, splitting the first two sets, 6-4, 4-6 before falling 13-11 in the tiebreaker.
  • On court 6, Philip Hilble grabbed the sole point for LIU with a 6-3, 6-1 win over his opponent.
  • Guilherme De Medeiros on court five also pushed his Hofstra opponent to a tiebreaker before falling 6-1, 5-7, 6-7 (3).
  • Up next, the Sharks are up against Binghamton University on Saturday, February 19 at 3 p.m. at home.
