BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The start of conference play for LIU men's basketball will take place a few blocks down from campus.
The Sharks will take on Wagner at the Barclays Center, the home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, on Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. to begin Northeast Conference play.
LIU (1-7) are set to travel to No. 5 UConn on Saturday before closing out its non-conference schedule at UAlbany, James Madison and Purchase.
The last time a regular season game took place at Barclays for the Sharks came almost three years ago when the Sharks lost to Saint Peter's on Dec. 22, 2019.
The matchup will be a rematch of the 2021-22 NEC semifinals. Wagner hosted LIU and won, 82-62, to advance to the conference championship.
Tre' Wood had six points in 39 minutes.
