The final victory has landed the Sharks a slew of Northeast Conference weekly awards.
In the aftermath of LIU's 37-34 win at Sacred Heart on Saturday, quarterback
Luca Stanzani is the NEC Rookie of the Week, defensive end
Eric O'Neill is the Co-Defensive Player of the Week and punter
Will Lynch is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Additionally, receiver
Michael Love joined Stanzani and O'Neill as NEC Prime Performers.
O'Neill, named the FedEx Ground National Freshman of the Week earlier Monday, had 3½ sacks, one forced fumble and 14 tackles (nine solo) on Saturday. He finished the regular season with an NEC-leading 10 sacks.
Stanzani improved to 4-0 as a college starter with the victory against the Pioneers. He competed 15 of 30 passes for 197 yards and four TDs and rushed for another score in the season-ending victory.
Lynch had nine punts for a 45.2-yard average.
Love had five receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns, including a 71-yard TD catch on LIU's first offensive play of the game.
