Field Hockey Season Closes; Saarah Olton Led Sharks in Goals, Points in 2022

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU field hockey team completed its season on Friday.

The Sharks fell to host Wagner, 1-0, on a third-quarter goal from Julia Pastorino.

LIU closed the season 6-12 overall and 3-4 in the NEC.

The Sharks had been eliminated from postseason contention with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Fairfield the previous game, on a goal that came in the fourth quarter at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Saarah Olton led the way for LIU, tallying eight goals and two assists during the season.

Meilin Liotard followed with 12 points (three goals, six assists). Felicia King also finished in double-digits with 10 points (three goals, four assists).
