Box Score SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The LIU men's basketball team took on Bryant on the road Sunday afternoon, falling to the Bulldogs, 88-80. The game was a contentious one, with 12 technical fouls and multiple ejections.
 
SHARK BITES

• LIU went up early in the game, taking an 11-6 lead on the home team with a layup from Isaac Kante at 15:30. Bryant kept it close, eventually retaking the lead six minutes later. The Bulldogs finished the final four minutes of the first half on a 14-5 run, and led 39-29 at the break.
• The Sharks came out of the break on fire, outscoring Bryant 13-3 over the first four minutes, and tying the game up, 42-42.
• Bryant answered with an 11-0 run, taking the lead back, 53-42. LIU would continue to battle, and a dunk from Noble Crawford brought them within three, 55-52 at 9:41.
• It was the closest the Sharks would come for the rest of the game; the Bulldogs rebuilt their lead, and held LIU at arm's length for the rest of the contest, taking the win, 88-81.
• Ty Flowers led LIU with 23 points, five blocks and four rebounds in 24 minutes of action. Senior Eral Penn had 18 points, including eight from the free throw line, along with eight rebounds and three assists.
• Isaac Kante had 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Kyndall Davis had 11 points and nine rebounds, along with three assists and two blocks.
• Tre Wood led the Sharks with seven assists.
• The Sharks are now 8-12 on the season, and 5-5 in the Northeast Conference.
• Up next, LIU returns home to host Sacred Heart, Thursday, February 3 at 7 p.m.
