BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - LIU men's ice hockey forward Billy Jerry has been nominated for the 2022 Hobey Baker Award. The award is given annually to the nation's top hockey player; it is the first career nomination for Jerry, and he is the first Shark ever to be nominatied for the award.
Through 21 matches this season, Jerry has accumulated five goals and 11 assists, totaling 16 points to lead the Sharks. His five goals are tied for second-most on the team as well.
At noon E.T. today, fan balloting officially opened for the 2022 Hobey Baker award. All college hockey fans can visit the voting website to cast their pick here: https://www.hobeybaker.com/vote.
The second phase of voting will begin on March 17, before closing on March 27. The award will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four Championship in Boston, Mass. on Friday, April 8.
