FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The LIU field hockey team extended its win streak to three straight on the road Monday afternoon, shutting out Sacred Heart, 2-0. With the win, LIU is now 3-1 in Northeast Conference action.

LIU dominated throughout the game, outshooting Sacred Heart, 17-7 over four periods, including a 9-2 advantage in penalty corners. But the Sharks wouldn't get on the board until the fourth quarter.

The SHU keeper would make saves on shots by Sammy Bell and Sol Espona, before the Sharks would score. Espona scored just over ten minute into the period, to put LIU up, 1-0. And a minute and a half later, sophomore Alexis Ruiz would score on a penalty corner, with an assist from Bell, to make it 2-0 LIU.
