Box Score TEANECK, N.J. – The Long Island University women's basketball could not complete the series sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson University on Friday, dropping a 57-36 decision inside the Rothman Center.
LIU jumped out to an early lead behind an 8-0 burst to grab an 8-4 advantage. The Sharks continued its strong play during the opening stanza, holding a 16-13 lead at the first quarter break. Junior
Aislinn Flynn knocked down a three-pointer with 42 seconds remaining in the first half to give LIU a 26-24 lead, though it would be the final advantage of the evening for the Sharks.
The halftime adjustments for the Knight defense proved effective as the Blue and Gold scored just 10 points during the second half. FDU used a 12-0 run that stretched into the fourth quarter to take a 17-point lead and LIU could not get within reach the rest of the way.
The Sharks will return to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 9 when they travel to Massachusetts for a two-game set against Merrimack College. Tuesday's contest is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.

- LIU dips to 3-7 in the conference standings while FDU improves to 5-5 in NEC play.
- Flynn led LIU in scoring with nine points on 3-of-9 shooting. It was the second time this season that Flynn led the team in points, netting a team-best 14 points against St. Francis College Brooklyn on Jan. 23.
- Four different Sharks hauled in five rebounds on the evening, including senior Zhané Williams, juniors Brandy Thomas and Kiara Bell, and freshman Zoee Hache.
- Williams continued her improved scoring, netting seven points to match her season-high. It is the third-consecutive game scoring five or more points after scoring just four points during the first seven games.
