BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – For the second time this season, a member of the LIU esports team has been recognized by the ECAC. This week, Matthew Russell was chosen as the ECAC League of Legends Player of the Week.
With their backs against the wall, and facing elimination from playoff contention, Russell, who plays by MattRuss224, stepped up big for the Sharks this past weekend. In the first game, Russell answered the call, going 11/2/5 carrying the game out from the top lane dealing 42% of the damage teams damage on Mordekaiser. He also averaged 7.4 CS/min. In the second game of the best of three series, Matt was to draw pressure from CMU's jungler, again having an impressive KDA of three, while also dealing 32% of all team damage, while average 7.5 CS/min.
