Men's Basketball Meets With Mount St. Mary's

EMMITSBURG, Md. - The LIU men's basketball team dropped their second-straight Northeast Conference game Friday evening, falling on the road to Mount St. Mary's, 64-46. With the loss, LIU moves to 7-7 in conference action.

SHARK BITES
  • Mount St. Mary's was dominant in the game at Knott Arena, leading for nearly all of the contest. The Sharks would struggle with the Mountaineers' defense, with one of their lowest scoring totals as a team under Derek Kellogg.
  • LIU had a promising 8-0 run in the second half that would give them the lead, 38-37 at 13:53, but from there, Mount dominated. The Sharks would go 0-14 from the field over the next 11 minutes, making only free throws, and allowing the home team to outscore them, 26-4.
  • LIU particularly struggled from three-point range, as they would make only two the whole game, shooting 11 percent from behind the arc.
  • Jermaine Jackson Jr. led LIU with 13 points and three assists, while senior Ty Flowers had 11 points and seven rebounds.
  • Up next, the Sharks have an eight day break to reset, before hosting CCSU at home, February 20th and 21st.
