EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - The LIU men's hockey program hosted its first Division I opponent at home Friday in the Northwell Health Ice Center, taking the Princeton Tigers down to the wire. The Tigers would sneak a goal in the final two minutes of regulation to take a 2-1 win over LIU.

• Princeton scored a goal in the second period to take the lead, 1-0. But in the third, Jake Stevens scored the equalizer, off passes from Tyler Welsh and Billy Jerry, to make it 1-1 on a power play goal.
• The Sharks out-shot the Tigers 29-14, but Princeton's goalie made the 28 saves needed to earn his team the win.
• Princeton scored the game-winning goal with 1:53 on the clock, stealing away with the 2-1 win.
• Stevens finished with the lone goal, and led LIU with three blocked shots on defense.
• Keeper Kris Carlson had 12 saves for LIU.
• Up next, the two teams meet again Saturday at Hobbey Baker Arena in Princeton at 6 p.m.
