NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The LIU women's soccer team closed the season on the road Sunday, falling to Central Connecticut State, 2-1.
League-leading CCSU out-shot the Sharks, 20-6 in the contest, but the score was tied, 0-0 at the half. The home team would score in the 57th minute, but six minutes later, LIU tied it up.
Tatiana Lizarraga scored a goal off a deflection, tying the game up, 1-1.
But the Blue Devils would score in the 88th minute to take the 2-1 lead, and the win. Junior goalie
Kayla DeTreux had nine saves for LIU. With the loss, the Sharks finish the season with a 2-11-1 overall record, and 2-7-1 in the Northeast Conference.
