March 13, 2020 -- Following the NCAA cancellation of all remaining 2019-2020 championships, the Northeast Conference (NEC) announced today the cancellation of all remaining competitions and practices for the spring season.
 
As a result of the NEC decision, Long Island University is canceling all athletic related activities, including organized practices (and captain's practices), meetings, contests and other athletic related activities for the remainder of the 2020 Spring semester, effective immediately.  Additionally, all face-to-face athletic recruiting both on- and off- campus will be canceled until further notice. 
 
The fitness centers at both Post and Brooklyn campuses will be closed until further notice. 
 
The health of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority. LIU will continue to follow developments and recommendations from federal and state health officials and will provide updates to the LIU Community.
