BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU men's basketball team is set to square off with local foe Fairleigh Dickinson Friday. The Sharks (12-15, 7-7 NEC) will be looking to snap a two game losing skid when they head across the Hudson, Friday, February 21 at 8 p.m.

SHARK BITES
  • Most recently, LIU fell to St. Francis Brooklyn at home Tuesday night, in the 45th annual Battle of Brooklyn, 87-77. The Sharks were led by a season-high 30 points from sophomore Jermaine Jackson Jr.
  • Jackson shot 10-for-19 from the field, including five three pointers. He also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
  • Senior Raiquan Clark chipped in 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
  • Sophomore Virshon Cotton, and seniors Jashaun Agosto and Julian Batts all had nine points for LIU.
  • Several Sharks are chasing milestones this season. Clark, who hit the all-time program mark on February 8th, is now chasing 2000 career points. He would be just the seventh player in NEC history to reach 2,000 career points, and the first for LIU. He needs just 73 points to hit that mark.
  • Batts is nine points away from his 1,000th career point. He also hit the mark in high school, and would become the first player from his hometown to hit the mark on both levels.
  • Redshirt junior Ty Flowers is also chasing membership to the 1,000-point club. Flowers currently needs 31 points to hit the career mark.
  • Agosto is 25 assists away from 500, and having reached 1,000 points last season, will look to join a prestigious point guard club.
  • FDU is 8-17 this season, but 6-8 in conference, including a recent win over league-leading Robert Morris, 72-71. Most recently, however, the Knights fell to CCSU, 76-75.
  • Last time the two teams faced off, LIU took the win in Brooklyn, 84-70.
  • Up next, the Sharks head west, to face off against Saint Francis U., Sunday, February 23 at 4 p.m.
