BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Long Island University men's soccer team will open Northeast Conference (NEC) play at the LIU Soccer Park on Friday, September 27 at 3 p.m. against Saint Francis University.
Notes on the Sharks
LIU is 3-4 on the season and coming off a 3-1 victory over Columbia University on Monday, September 23 at the Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. Junior

Ryan Grande scored for the Sharks. Sophomore
Athanasios Coutroumpas led LIU in assists with two while graduate student

Chris Capaldo both have three points with one goal and one assist while Johnson and Grande each have two points and one goal. Ocampo also has one assist for LIU.
In goal, Pesallaccia has 27 saves, a .692 save percentage and a 1.80 goals against average.
NEC Honors
On Tuesday, September 24 the NEC honored Ndoye as its Co-Rookie of the Week. He tallied four points on the week, scoring both of the Sharks' matches. It was the second NEC weekly honor of the season for LIU, as Capaldo was named NEC Player of the Week on Wednesday, September 4.
Scouting Saint Francis
Saint Francis has a 3-3-0 record and will also be playing in its first NEC match. Most recently, the Red Flash defeated Duquesne University 2-1 on Tuesday, September 24 in Loretto, Pennsylvania at the Stokes Soccer Complex.
The Red Flash has two players that currently have six points and three goals, Lucas Rosa and Jonathan Neil. Felix Tonne has four points with two goals while Lucas Canineu has four points with two assists and one goal. Kevin Smolyn also had three points and three assists for Saint Francis.
At goalkeeper, has a 2-1-0 record, nine saves a 1.67 goals against average and a .643 save percentage. Alex Morgret has a 1-2-0 record with seven saves, a 1.33 goals against average and a .636 save percentage.
