BROOKVILLE, N.Y.- The Long Island University women's ice hockey team heads north to Rochester this weekend for the final non-conference matchup of 2019. The Sharks face Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15.

Notes on the Sharks
The Sharks closed out the first half of NEWHA play going 1-1 against Franklin Pierce last weekend, and are looking to carry the momentum with them from a 7-3 win over the Ravens on Saturday.
Carrigan Umpherville finished the game with two goals and one assist. Umpherville was one of six players who scored on Saturday.
Matilda af Bjur,
Abby Latorella,
Elissa Taylor, and
Alva Johnsson all scored, with Johnsson's being a short-handed goal.
Julia Hoffmann scored her first career goal and also chipped in two assists, while
Saige McKay added a team-best three assists.
Paula Bergström and
Renee Hoffmann both had two assists. In goal,
Mia McLeod earned her second win of the season behind 28 saves. She now has 276 saves on the season and a .896 save percentage. Umpherville leads the team with seven goals and nine assists for a total of 16 points. af Bjur is right behind her with five goals, and is tied for second with Bergström with seven assists.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The RIT Tigers are looking to bounce back after recently dropping two games to Penn State last weekend. Taylor Baker and Madison Itagaki both scored a goal during the second game. Terra Lanteigne finished the first two periods with 22 saves. Lanteigne has 305 saves on the season and is sporting a .924 save percentage. Rachel Goff leads the team with five goals and four assists for nine points. Abby Davies has three goals and six assists to tie Goff with nine points this season.

The Sharks will close out 2019 with an exhibition tournament in Montreal, Canada from December 28-29. The Sharks will take on McGill on Saturday, December 28 which will be followed by a matchup with host Concordia on Sunday December 29.
