LUBBOCK, Texas – The Long Island University men's basketball team continues its road swing Sunday afternoon, taking on one of the top teams in the nation. The Sharks will play #12 Texas Tech, Sunday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. ET, as a part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational. The contest will air on Fox Sports Southwest, but fans can also find the game on any streaming device by using the FOX Sports Go app.

  • The Sharks (1-4) played hard wire-to-wire Friday night at Viejas Arena, but LIU could not overcome San Diego State, falling to the Aztecs, 81-64. Senior Raiquan Clark led LIU with his first double double of the season, scoring 10 points and leading the team with 10 rebounds, while junior Ty Flowers had 15 points.
  • Texas Tech comes into Sunday's matchup with a #12 national ranking, and a perfect 4-0 record. The Red Raiders, who played in last year's national championship game, have won their games by an average of 26 points this season, including Wednesday's 72-57 win over Tennessee State, part of a a 50-game non-conference home winning streak.
  • Tech is led by freshman guard Jahmi'us Ramsey so far this season, as he's averaging 17.5 points per game, along with 6.5 rebounds per game. Senior forward TJ Holyfield is averaging 16.0 points per game, shooting 81.3 percent from the field, and also bringing down 4.0 rebounds per game. Junior guard Davide Moretti (14.3 ppg) and sophomore Kyler Edwards (10.0 ppg) are the other Red Raiders in double digits. Meanwhile, senior guard Chris Clarke has a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game average, and he leads the team with 26 assists so far this season.

Up next, LIU continues longest part of the road swing, as the Sharks will spend 10 days on the road over the Thanksgiving holiday as a part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational. The Sharks now head to the Orleans Casino in Vegas, where eight different teams will finish out the tournament. LIU will take on the University of North Florida on Thursday, November 28, before facing off against either Tennessee State or Cal Poly, Friday, November 29.
