PEORIA, ARIZ. – The LIU baseball team traveled west to face PAC-12 member Washington State in the first of a four-game series Thursday, falling to the Cougars, 10-0. The Sharks move to 2-3 overall.
 
SHARK BITES

• Washington State scored solo runs in the second, third, and fifth, and ninth. The big inning for the Cougars came in the seventh, scoring six runs.
• LIU was led by Seth Surrett, as the left fielder went 1-3 with a single and a stolen base. Surrett has collected a hit in three of his first four starts.
• Luke Turner, Carlton Harper, and Bentley Boekhout each finished with one hit apiece. 
• Shane Tucker started on the mound, earning the loss. Nick DeSalvo threw four and a third out of the bullpen, only giving up two earned runs.
• Up next, the Sharks will face the Cougars in a double-header on Friday, with the first game beginning at 4:00 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m.
