Farmville, Va. – A consistent tournament showing at the Tina Barrett Invitational in Farmville, Va., earned sophomore Anna Palsson of the Long Island University women’s golf team her second Northeast Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honor of 2010, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Leading the Blackbirds to an eighth-place finish at the Tina Barrett, Palsson compiled three consecutive rounds in the 70s. Opening with rounds of 78-77 on Monday, Palsson continued the impressive showing with a 79 on Tuesday to finish the event in 12th-place overall.

For the tournament, Palsson was one of the event’s steadiest players, ranking third out of 40 competitors with 34 pars in 54 holes. Long Island takes the course again at the Roar-EE Invitational in Suffern, N.Y. on April 16-17.
