The Blackbirds rallied just before halftime when Ranney scored off a Wienckowski pass with 37 seconds to play and then Wienckowski scored her own goal off a feed from freshman Caitlin Farrell just before the intermission.

JU opened the scoring in the second half, but Farrell came back with an LIU goal set up by Wienckowski at the 24:27 mark to make it 11-7. That was as close as the Blackbirds would get the rest of the way as Jacksonville ran off four unanswered goals. Junior Sara LaNoir ended the run with a free position shot with 15:05 to play to make it 15-8, but the Dolphins answered with five straight scores. Back-to-back goals from Ranney and Wienckowski cut the deficit to 20-10 with 5:26 to play, but Sarah Michel tacked on a goal for the final margin.
