Brooklyn, N.Y. - A pair of Long Island University baseball players continued the growing theme of the off-season for the Blackbirds, excelling in summer league play. Sophomore
Sam Sciamarelliearned a spot on his league's all-star team and freshman
Derek Stupski closed out a successful season atop his league in RBIs.
Sciamarelli followed in the footsteps of teammates Stupski and
Gerard Tingos by being selected to a summer league all-star team. Sciamarelli represented the White Sox of the Arizona Collegiate Wooden Bat League, and is hitting .478 with two doubles and a triple.
Stupski wrapped up his time with the Sherrill Silversmiths batting .378 with two homers, a triple and 10 doubles. His 32 RBIs led the Eastern Collegiate Baseball League.
