Dan Wright Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Dan Wright of the Long Island University men’s soccer team was named to the CoSIDA/
ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team for District 1 as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The defender currently carries a 3.95 grade point average in journalism at Long Island after transferring from the University of Alabama-Huntsville in 2008. In his two years at LIU, the Sydney, Australia native has started 34 of the 35 contests and played in every game as a Blackbird. The senior central defender has helped Long Island to seven shutouts in his tenure in Brooklyn.
Wright joined Quinnipiac’s Dwayne Mars and Central Connecticut State’s Robert Cavener as the three Northeast Conference players on the first team. The Blackbirds finish their 2009 campaign when they travel cross-town to play St. Francis (N.Y.) Nov. 7 at 3:00 p.m.
